Yield: 1 pound cake
----------------------------
3 cups sugar
3 cups cake flour
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening
4-5 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 cup milk
Cooking time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Cream shortening and butter.
Add sugar and 1/2 of the milk and blend.
Add eggs, one at a time, with the remaining milk and flour.
Add flavorings.
Place in a COLD OVEN!!!!
Bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees, then turn oven to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes longer.
DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR UNTIL CAKE IS DONE!!!!
