1 cup margarine, softened
1 cup confectioner's sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla
2 ¼ cups flour
2 cups cnadied cherries, halved
1 cup pecans, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a small bowl, cream margarine until fluffy. Gradually add sugar, beating until light.
Beat in the egg and vanilla.
Stir in flour; mix well.
Stir in cherries and pecans.
Cover in an airtight container and chill 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 1/3s.
On lightly floured pastry cloth with floured hands, shape each piece into 12 inch rolls.
Wrap each roll in waxed paper; chill at least 3 hours or until firm.
Cut in 1/4 inch slices.
Place pieces about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees.
Bake for 12 - 15 minutes or until lightly browned on edges.
Cool on racks.
Store in an airtight container in a dry place.
