Ingredients

Yield: 16 squares
------------------------

1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 egg, well beaten
1 cup milk
5 tablespoons shortening, melted and cooled

Cooking Instructions

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Preheat ove to 425 degrees. Grease bottom only of 8 X 8 inch pan.

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together in bowl. Mix in cornmeal. Blend egg, milk and shortening together
until mixed. Add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Turn mixture into greased pan.

Bake at 425 degrees about 20 minutes.
