My Never Fail Pound Cake Date Added: 22 Jul 2013

Ingredients



2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
1 stick butter, at room temperature
5 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cooking Instructions


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a 12 cup tube or bundt pan.

Combine flour, sugar, shortening, milk, butter, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl.
Beat with mixer at medium speed for 20 minutes, scraping down sides of bowl occasionally.
Pour batter into prepared cake pan.

Bake for 1 hour or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.

Let stand in pan for 10 minutes.
Remove cake from pan; cool to room temperature on the rack.
