Yield: 2 loaves

2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
3 eggs. lightly beaten
1 can (16 ounces) pumpkin
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves
3/4 teaspoon salt
Confectioner's sugar
Cooking time: 60 minutes

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 9 X 5 X 3 inch loaf pans.
Combine sugar and oil with mixer in a large bowl.
Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, and continue beating until light.
Beat in pumpkin, blending well.
Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt into creamed mixture.
Beat at low speed until blended.
Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake for 1 hour.
Cool in pans on wire rack for 15 minutes.
Remove from pans; cool completely.
Sprinkle with Confectioners sugar.
