3 cups dry bread crumbs
1 1/2 cups light cream
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3/4 pound ground pork
3/4 pound ground veal
1 1/2 cups milk
3 eggs
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons minced onion
3 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon allspice

In a large bowl, soak bread crumbs in cream; mix in meat thouroughly.
Stir in remaining ingredients except shortening.
Shape mixture into 1 inch balls.
Melt shortening in a large skillet; brown and cook meatballs.
Serve meatballs from chafing dish; keep "seconds" warm in the oven.
