Buttermilk Pound Cake: Date Added: 21 Jul 2013 Ingredients:

Yield: 1 10 inch cake

1 cup margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract

Cooking Instructions:

Cooking time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Grease flour 10 inch tube pan.

Cream margarine; gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed on mixer until well blended.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

Stir in flavorings.
Pour batter into prepared tube pan.

Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely on rack.
