Yield: 1 pound cake

1 cup margarine
1 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract
Grease and flour 10 inch tube pan.
Cream margarine, shortening, sugar and eggs for 10 minutes.
Alternately add buttermilk and flour, beating well each time.
Add extracts.
Pour into prepared pan and put into COLD oven.
Turn oven to 300 degrees.
Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes or until cake tests done.
